The Recreation Ground was purchased from the Netley Estate for £600, becoming a publicly owned space for local sports and community events.

1906

The first pavilion was built, providing shelter and space for players and visitors.    

1900

Shere Bowls Club was formed, adding to the growing number of local sports clubs.

1890s

The Allahakberries, captained by Peter Pan author J.M. Barrie, played cricket matches at Shere.
